WhatsApp Chat Analyzer
Export one conversation, and see the pattern underneath it — who pursues, who withdraws, and what actually repairs things.

WhatsApp is where a lot of relationships actually live — the daily back-and-forth, the arguments at midnight, the plans that keep getting moved. Because it keeps full history with timestamps, a WhatsApp export is one of the richest things you can analyse: reply latency, who initiates, and how long it takes the two of you to recover after a rupture are all visible in the data.
How to export your WhatsApp conversation
Produces a _chat.txt file
- 1Open the conversation in WhatsApp.
- 2Tap the contact's name at the top to open chat info.
- 3Scroll down and choose Export chat.
- 4Choose Without media — media is not analysed and only makes the file huge.
- 5Save or email yourself the .txt file, then upload it here.
What you get back
- An attachment read for both peopleGrounded in the ECR-R, the scale used in actual relationship research — not a personality type.
- The cycle you are both inWho pursues, who withdraws, and what sets it off — quoted from your own messages.
- What actually repairs itSpecific things that have worked between you before, and what to try next.
- Evidence for every claimEach conclusion cites the messages it came from, so you can disagree with it.
Your WhatsApp conversation is never stored and never used to train anything. It is sent once, analyzed, and discarded. Many chat-analysis tools keep your conversations and train on them — we built ChatMend so that we simply never hold them. Read the policy.
WhatsApp questions
Does this work with group chats?
It works best with a two-person conversation. Attachment dynamics are about a pair — in a group the signal gets diluted across several relationships at once.
Do I need to export media?
No. Choose 'Without media'. Photos and voice notes are not analysed, and including them makes the export enormous for no benefit.
How many messages do I need?
At least 10 between the two of you. A few hundred gives a much more reliable read, because patterns need repetition to be distinguishable from a bad week.
Is my WhatsApp chat stored anywhere?
No. The file is read in your browser, the conversation is sent once for analysis, and no copy is kept on our servers. It is never used as training data.
