How to copy your iMessage conversation

- 2Press and hold a message, then choose Select.
- 3Tick the messages you want to include and copy them.
- 4Paste them into the box on the analyse page.
- 5Alternating lines are enough — you do not need timestamps.

iMessage questions
Why can't I just upload a file?
Apple provides no way to export a conversation from an iPhone. We would rather tell you that plainly than send you to a third-party tool that asks for your Apple ID.
How much should I paste?
A few hundred messages is ideal. Include a stretch where things were difficult as well as ordinary days — a fight in isolation reads very differently from a fight in context.
Does it matter that there are no timestamps?
Some timing analysis is unavailable without them, but attachment reading is based on language, sequence and how conflict resolves — all of which survive a plain copy-paste.
Can I analyse a conversation from my Mac?
Yes. Messages on macOS lets you select a range and copy it, which is often easier than doing it on a phone.
